It’s never too late…

You’re going to read this phrase over and over again here in Alex Living Excellence. Years ago, in all the previous stages of my life, I didn’t believe in this at all. Like too many people unfortunately, I too believed that I didn’t have many options, that I couldn’t chose my own future, and of course if I believed that the moment for something had already passed, well then it was too late. Apart from reading the phrase “it’s never too late” a lot here, you’re also going to read many things that may go against the grain for many people. That being said you’re almost always going to read things that have a positive focus or direction rather than a negative one.  I nearly always chose to act in a manner that promotes positive things or issues, instead of acting against negative ones. The difference, though not obvious for many, is in fact enormous. Currently, our world is driven by fear, negativity and pessimistic messages. What am I referring to here? To messages like “If you don’t use this brand you won’t be successful with men/women”, If your child doesn’t have X cell phone, how will you be able to find him/her – and just imagine all the terrible things that may happen!” And every day we hear “If you take X path which is totally different from the path of the majority, you will be different…” and of course “But what happens if you don’t achieve your goals? Take the sure path/job/course, it’s safer”. Unfortunately, the list of these abundant daily messages is endless. And what of politics? It’s driven by greed, propaganda, lies, brainwashing, indoctrination, and of course by fear. And it instils these things in the public…

Normalisation is the recommended path, and the fact of being different, travelling a different path to the majority, having different opinions or passions is seen as something negative - something to fear.

Have all these beliefs and messages brought us to a positive present, one with values and essence? Do they show us an optimistic future? I think not. So with this in mind it’s hardly surprising that nearly all the messages we receive are negative ones – I’m also referring to those which are in essence for good causes, like all the fights against A, B, C or D. The key word here is AGAINST. Wouldn’t it be better to promote the positive? For example regarding “The fight against cancer” or any similar cause, wouldn’t it be better to “Promote optimum health”? Here the emphasis would be in researching how to obtain optimum health and then remain healthy, instead of waiting till you’re sick then fighting it with little regard to your base health.

In my professional, personal, and sports life, and even in all my charity work, I avoid the use of the word “against” – I always prefer to take a totally positive direction. I’d rather promote something than fight against something: This may appear to be just a matter of semantics, but words are important – each word weighs a great deal and carries a particular message. My message is almost always a positive one.
For this reasons, today I decided to launch my “It’s Never Too Late” articles here in Alex Living Excellence. If we can always adopt a positive attitude it will help us in every area of our lives; in our work, our private lives, our leisure – in short, it will help us become better people. For me, achieving this is a constant battle (of course a positive one!!), even though I’ve been working on this for the last five years, and I still have to struggle often to maintain this attitude. It’s not easy – but who said life would be easy? The most precious goals don’t come without a good deal of effort.
There are many ways in which we can acquire a positive attitude, many tools we can use to help us along this path, one of these being always trying to advocate the positive instead of fighting the negative, in thought, word, and deed.
This article serves as another tool for those who wish to keep developing, but it also serves as a way in which to get to know me a bit better. And of course, I hope this article will serve as a wake-up call for some so as to open their eyes to what’s really behind all the messages and values, which surround us and drive us today. I hope too that it will help them understand that this way of thinking and living isn’t the only way – it’s not an absolute truth. It’s simply what governments and the powers that rule us want, but this doesn’t mean that there are no other options. Normalisation, negative messages, and fear serve only to raise sheep. It gives security to those in power. All that doesn’t conform to normalisation is not necessarily negative, nor should it be something which fills us with fear – to be different is to know yourself and have the strength to live as you truly are, not as the majority would like to you do.
Find your own particular positive path, and find yourself – It’s Never Too Late to change your attitude or your path, to learn new things or to go in search of dreams. And it’s never too late to be positive…
Certainly and most unfortunately many of you will think or say that this isn’t always possible, or it’s not always that easy… I’ve heard this all my life, and I continued lost and without direction or choices until the day I decided not to listen to these opinions of the masses – that day I decided to take my life into my own hands. Everything is in our own hands – not what happens to us in our lives, but rather the attitude with which we choose to face these things…

Be Excellent!
